Date: 20th September 2024
Time: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Location: Bó Studios, Chapel Street, Townparks, Dundalk

For Culture Night 2024, Bó Studios is proud to present a unique interactive event with artist Úna Curley, inviting the community to participate in a large weaving project inspired by the Climate Warming Stripes, created by Professor Ed Hawkins at the University of Reading in 2018. This collaborative artwork is part of the Louth Urban Food Sanctuary (LUFS), a council-led initiative exploring food sustainability in response to our changing climate.

From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, visitors of all ages are welcome to drop in, learn, and contribute to the creation of this special piece. No previous weaving experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to engage in this meaningful artistic process. The weave will begin at Bó Studios during Culture Night and will be completed at various events throughout the Autumn, culminating in a final piece that will showcase during Climate Week.

In addition to the weaving project, Culture Night attendees will have the opportunity to explore the Bó Studios, which will be open to the public for the evening. Meet the resident artists, tour their studios, and enjoy an exhibition showcasing a diverse array of artistic works.

Event Highlights:

  • Participatory Weaving Project: Contribute to a large weave reflecting the Climate Stripes, guided by Úna Curley.
  • Explore Bó Studios: Visit the artist studios, engage with local artists, and view their exhibitions.
  • Family-Friendly Event: Suitable for all ages, with no booking required.
