The Louth Urban Food Sanctuary project held a Seed Day on Saturday, March 2nd at the Dundalk Inclusivity Garden (DIG) located at Creative Spark, Dundalk. The selected crops for cultivation include Bok Choi, Ginger, Turmeric, Heritage Peas, and Chilli Peppers.
The Seed Day featured crop-planting demonstrations by Roisín Cotter, an esteemed organic gardener actively involved in the project. Roisín shared valuable insights on effective planting techniques, fostering a sense of community and knowledge exchange among participants.
There was free distribution of seeds to enrolled community gardens and backyard growers on the project and free ‘seed calendars’ providing valuable information on easy-to-grow produce throughout the year.
